Chapter 129

Unicorn Wolf [Blue Eyes] vs Goblin [Green Demon],

Two monsters stood in the center of the arena, while their trainers headed to the back, much like capsule monster trainers.

“My baby Green Demon, please put on the best match as always!!!!”
“Blue Eyes!!!! Turn that ugly thing into a kebab!!!!”

Blue Eyes let out a howl in response to Simon, who looked like the biggest punk with a Mohawk, while Green Demon swung his club defiantly.

Boom!!
“Kuweeeek!!!”
“Auuwuuuu!!!!”

The two monsters stared each other down, waiting for the right moment, and then clashed in the arena!!!

“Ah!!! The match is off to a fiery start!!! Blue Eyes is relentlessly attacking with its sharp horns!!!”

Right from the start, Blue Eyes began attacking Green Demon from all sides with its fast legs and horns. The technique “Horn Jab,” which is not something a regular monster could perform, would normally end the match for any ordinary opponent, but Green Demon wasn’t just any ordinary monster.

“It blocks that with just a club!!! Impressive Green Demon!!!”

Green Demon used the club to defend itself, appearing as though it had activated “Toughen Up,” raising its defense significantly. Its trainer, Ura, shouted out.

“Well done! Green Demon!!! If you train like that, you can win!!!”

The heat in the arena was palpable, and of course, the stands were heating up as well.

“Good job!!! Blue Eyes!!!! Kill that goblin!!!”
“I bet 1000 gold on Green Demon!!!”

While spectating the match, Yuren suddenly became curious about Green Demon’s odds. How much would he win if it won?

“Jiren, what’s the odds on Green Demon?”
“Let me see… It’s… 2.5 times. Master.”
“2.5 times!? So if we bet 1 billion… that’s 2.5 billion!”
“Yes, that’s right.”

2.5 times!? To Yuren, 2.5 billion didn’t seem like that much anymore. But the thrill of gambling lies not just in the amount, but in the luck that comes with it. 2.5 times was thrilling enough to make this match 2.5 times more exciting.

“Win, Green Demon!!! Kill that wolf!!!”
“Right! Go for it!!! Goblin!!!”

Yuren and her mentor Irene started cheering passionately for Green Demon. Meanwhile, what did the three wearing the [Cleansing Glasses] see?

Surprisingly, the fight looked almost 100% identical to them. Just a sanitized and thrilling sport.

“Oh! Everyone!!! Blue is enthusiastically stabbing Green with its horn. Looks like Green is in a lot of pain!”
As Blue Eyes’ horn attacks drew blood from Green Demon in reality, they saw Blue’s attack as simply causing some mild discomfort to Green. Just like a capsule monster animation.

“Oh! Green can’t lose to that flimsy bat swinging at Blue! Blue stepped back as the bat seemed to hurt!!!!”
“Hang in there, Green!!! If you win, I’ll buy you something delicious.”
“That’s right!! Hang in there, Green!!!”

But no matter how sanitized it was, the crucial details of the fight remained the same. The thrilling engagement of the two monsters captivated everyone, including the female spectators who began cheering vigorously.

“It’s a blood-splattered showdown!!! Blue Eyes is covered in the blood of Green Demon thanks to its horn! But it won’t give up. Does Green Demon know it’s fighting for its life? It absolutely refuses to fall!”

Despite becoming bloodied by Blue Eyes’ horn attacks, Green Demon was not going to back down. It clung to Blue Eyes and continued to batter it with its club.

Thwack! Thwack! Thwack!
“Kuweyyyk!!!”
“Out! Out!! Out!!!”

If they pulled away, another horn attack would come flying in, so Green Demon was determined to stay close. But…

Crack!!!!
“Ahhhh!!!! Blue Eyes’ ‘Back Kick’ struck Green Demon!!!”

Anticipating such a scenario, Blue Eyes unleashed its ultimate move, “Back Kick,” and sent Green Demon flying back to the ground.

“Ah!!! Is this going to be Blue Eyes’ victory? Green Demon isn’t getting up!”

The fallen Green Demon lay still, as if it was really dead. Is this how it ends!?

Then the crowd began to roar.

“No!!! My 1000 gold!!!”
“Hang in there!!! Green Demon!!! Show that goblin your spirit!!!”

At that moment, trainer Ura also started shouting at Green Demon.

“Green Demon!!! My baby!!! Don’t give up!!! Think about all the training we went through!!”

Was it the trainer’s words that worked? Green Demon began to move.

“Uuuuu!!!! Kuweeeeeek!!!!”

Dragging its bloodied body and using its club as a staff, Green Demon rose again, looking like a true warrior.

“Green Demon!!!! It’s standing!!! Incredible tenacity!!!”

The sight of an injured warrior refusing to give up had the crowd roaring with enthusiasm. The excitement spread to the female spectators as well.

“Green got up!!!”
“Go, Green!!!!”
“That’s right!! Green Demon!! You’re doing great!!!”

Though Green Demon stood, the situation was still grim. It seemed as if a gentle nudge could knock it out, and Blue Eyes wasn’t looking much better off.

“Both are at their limits now. This appears to be the final strike! Who will have the favor of the goddess of victory!!!”

The arena fell silent. The two monsters stared each other down.

Feeling that this was the last strike, they both seemed to understand it.

What kind of final blow would secure the victory? As everyone held their breath, the wolf and the goblin charged simultaneously.

“Kuweeeek!!!!!”
“Auuwuuuu!!!!”

The two monsters rushed towards each other, and the first successful attack came from… Blue Eyes!!!

“Ah!!! Blue Eyes’ horn has pierced Green Demon’s belly!!! Is this how it ends!!!”

Blue Eyes’ horn punctured Green Demon’s belly. Was the match about to end here?

The crowd cheered for Blue Eyes while those backing Green Demon expressed disappointment, when suddenly, a twist happened!!!

Creak!
“Au?”
“…Kuweeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

With Blue Eyes’ horn clenched in its grip, Green Demon swung its club with all its might at Blue Eyes’ head.

Boom!!!!
With a huge crash, Green Demon’s club struck Blue Eyes’ head. Blue Eyes’ horn shattered, and its head burst, leaving it helplessly collapsed on the ground.

In that moment, the victor of the Monster Arena was decided.

“Ah!!!!! Green Demon has smashed Blue Eyes’ head with its club!!!!! Winner: Green Demon!!!!!!”
“No!!!! Blue Eyes!!!!!”

Simon, Blue Eyes’ trainer, collapsed and wailed in despair, while cheers erupted from the stands.

“That’s it!!!! Well done!!!! 2.5 billion!!!!!”
“Kyaaaa!!! Green won!!!!!”
“Good job!!! Green!!!!”
“Green is the best!!!!”

Green Demon also seemed to have exhausted all its strength and fell to the ground as Ura rushed in to heal it. The arena was splattered in monster blood, and Blue Eyes’ head fragments lay scattered.

Honestly, it was extremely gruesome. At that moment, Julia said.

“Well, can we take these off now?”
Yuren gasped and rushed to stop Julia as she tried to remove the [Cleansing Glasses].

She knew Julia well. And she also knew that if Julia saw this scene, she wouldn’t eat for three days.

“Uh… I recommend wearing them until we leave. Sylvia and Sora too.”

Upon hearing Yuren’s words, Sylvia, who was about to take off her glasses, paused her hand.

“Is… is it that bad?”
Nodding.

Thus, Sora and Sylvia cautiously put their hands down. To their eyes, Blue Eyes looked like a cartoon character with a big bump on its head and dizzy eyes.

If they saw the body of Blue Eyes being dragged away, dripping brains, it could have resulted in trauma.

“But… I’ll admit one thing. Yuren.”
“What is it?”
“I must say… it’s definitely entertaining.”

Sylvia couldn’t accept the idea that watching animals fight in a capsule monster game was more fun than the games she had created until now.

She understood. All fighting can be entertaining, but the idea that it was more fun than watching people fight might have led anyone to express doubt at first.

But there was something uniquely enjoyable about it.

Even though I am not directly fighting, seeing the beings I raised with care fight on my behalf and share the joy of their victory is its own kind of thrill.

“Ahh… Blue Eyes fought valiantly but it ultimately ended this way. Let’s give a round of applause to the warrior being carried away.”

At that moment, the arena officials began carrying away Blue Eyes’ corpse.

Blue Eyes had half of its head missing, and its tongue was hanging out.
Well… Okay, such a gruesome match wasn’t exactly my preference either.

If I hadn’t brought the [Cleansing Glasses], it could have caused some serious trauma.

Thus, the viewing of the Monster Arena by the Irene School concluded successfully.

Now, the delightful time of game development was approaching.
