[Mutated Wolf Skin x1]
[Mutated Wolf’s Large Fang x2]
As anyone who’s played the game knows, there are various ways to acquire equipment items.
You can just buy them at shops, order items from blacksmiths, or win rare goods at auctions.
In this game, however, the primary method of obtaining items is by submitting them to the blacksmith.
Of course, since this is a game that aims to create “another reality,” there are other methods possible too.
However, what’s usually sold in stores tends to have questionable quality, and auctions can be outrageously expensive.
Because of this, most users opt for custom crafting. The prices are reasonable, and the quality is generally better.
But there’s one problem with this approach… you typically have to gather the materials yourself.
It’s possible to buy the materials, but that becomes prohibitively expensive. You might as well settle for something from the store. Money, after all, is what trips people up everywhere.
That said, this game isn’t like other RPGs that just hand out items left and right… so getting new equipment is quite awkward in many ways.
Then, in such circumstances, materials came to her. And they were some pretty high-quality materials at that.
How can there be mutated wolves? Aren’t they monsters living in this forest?
Most monsters residing in this forest boast incredibly high levels—levels that even she, who is considered high-level among players, wouldn’t be able to handle.
Among them, the “mutated wolf” is somewhat weaker… but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s still strong.
“What was the average level of the Mutated Wolf?”
Even among the same species, individual levels can differ. But there was an average to be had. Luckily, she remembered quickly.
The monster she had faced the moment she died here was indeed the mutated wolf.
Her memory of that encounter was still fresh…
“Level 83.”
Insane.
Chaerin cursed inwardly. That level was nearly on par with a ranking player.
What level is this human?
“Our bro… must be pretty strong ㄷㄷㄷ”
“A strong man ㄷㄷ distorted lust…”
“ㄴ Kicked out by the manager”
“Why the hell was that?”
“Maybe it’s just a dead wolf corpse they dragged in”
“LOL how strong can a dude be, seriously ㅋㅋㅋㅋ”
“Speaking of which, there’s a truckload of girls who got sliced by the 4th Knight Commander saying that.”
“Huh?”
Meanwhile, Yor was puzzled.
Honestly, from his standpoint, he had just tossed a few random junk items lying around his house.
Of course, he knew those were valuable, but to him, such items were easily attainable.
However, for Yoo Chaerin, they were quite precious.
Since this area was an unexplored territory, the supply of items was not plentiful. There was a noticeable difference in scarcity.
Therefore, Yoo Chaerin bowed her head and expressed her gratitude.
“Thank you!”
Already, she could visualize how to process the materials. The skin for crafting armor, and since there were two fangs, she could make a pair of daggers…
“Hehehe.”
Perhaps she would acquire equipment even better than the level 75 daggers she was planning to buy.
“Well, it’s getting dark; you should head out now.”
“Ah, yes!”
With that, Chaerin left Yor’s house.
After she left, Yor lightly examined the items.
“Holly Water x6.”
And a pastry filled with strawberry jam!
What a satisfying outcome.
Such items were typically sold only in the city center. Being a criminal, Yor couldn’t obtain them so easily.
Compared to these, the junk items he had given to Chaerin were nothing.
Of course, he could ask the shady characters in the alley… but no one knows what those guys might do with bread.
Holly water is a precious item that even they have trouble getting their hands on.
Feeling pleased, Yor took a bite of the pastry.
“Ah.”
The savory and sweet flavor spread through his mouth. It even included hints of nostalgia.
“Kind of cold though…”
But that was a bit disappointing.

The next day after Chaerin left.
I immediately started disguising my home.
I had somewhat exposed my existence, but I didn’t want people coming in and out of my house at random.
Using dirt and leaves I could find nearby, I covered the cave’s roof. Luckily, being eco-friendly, it blended in well with the foliage.
From afar, it’s likely someone would just think it’s a large hole.
As for the entrance to the cave… I left it visible for now.
It wasn’t very large, so it would be hard to notice, plus I needed to see some sunlight every now and then.
My mental state is precarious enough; I needed the sun to survive.
And there was this thought too.
“Eventually, I’ll get found out anyway.”
Just because I disguised it a bit doesn’t mean my house is entirely hidden.
Someday, as more people enter this forest, my home will eventually be discovered.
When that day comes, I will truly become a zoo monkey…
I just hope that otherworlders exhibit a little common decency and don’t break into my home.
“Phew, done.”
After some time, I finally completed the work.
My own small house, harmonized with the forest, stands proudly. This solved the biggest task for today.
“Now, I need to gather food.”
All that’s left is to go about daily life. Hopefully, I can find something valuable today.

[What the hell is this?]
[Kind of hot… hehe]
[Who the hell is Yor?]
[Isn’t that the NPC living in the Forbidden Forest from the other day?]
[Oh ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ]

[Heard a new quest-giving NPC appeared today. Is it true?]
[No way]
[Yep, this time it’s a streamer named Yoo Chaerin.]
[So, if I go, can I get a quest too?]
[Don’t dream it up, ㅋㅋ why would she give you a quest?]
[Watch your language, you brat.]
[Isn’t it possible she might be constantly giving quests? I saw the errands list; it looks like it could turn into a quest?]
[Anyway, it seems like she’s worth talking to. NPCs that give quests aren’t that common.]

After finishing the game, Yoo Chaerin casually wandered through the community.
It was one of her little joys.
After a stream ends, she loves to see viewers’ reactions to her broadcast.
Her editor had advised her not to look at such things as they only mess with her mental state, but she couldn’t help it.
Fortunately, the results from browsing the community were not bad.
It seemed today’s stream went quite well. After all, it was rare for someone like her, a low-tier streamer, to be mentioned in the community.
It meant that Yor’s impact was significant.
Especially since a quest had come up today. It’s only natural for user attention to be focused.
Not every NPC that gives quests is important, but all those who do have a “probability” of becoming key characters in the world.
From the user’s perspective, remembering them was never a bad thing. Besides, Yor’s looks were quite striking.
With that, Yoo Chaerin couldn’t help but smile wryly.
She noticed he seemed somewhat displeased with visitors.
“More will definitely come…”
It was something she couldn’t stop. A quest had appeared, so surely people would come to see.
Though she had hinted at during her stream, strange, toxic users likely wouldn’t bother visiting her.
Even if she hadn’t seen him fight directly, people might have a vague understanding of how strong he is.
Ding—!
Just as she was mulling over these thoughts, a text notification appeared on her phone.
It was a message from her editor.
[BlackKitty: I watched the stream; it was fun.]
[BlackKitty: Should I edit it right away?]
“Hmm…”
Hearing that, Chaerin hesitated momentarily. Editing and uploading to YouTube right after a stream is the norm. But after getting complaints from him just yesterday… something was bothering her.
So, Yoo Chaerin decided to ask her editor for a favor.
[Chaerin: Hey, about that…]
[Chaerin: Can we hold off on uploading to YouTube for now?]
[BlackKitty: ??? Why?]
[Chaerin: Just felt weird…]
[BlackKitty: I mean, it’s just an NPC, right? What’s the issue?]
That was a fair point. An NPC probably wouldn’t be watching her YouTube channel anyway.
From their perspective, [Demon’s Saga] is merely a game. No matter how human-like or lively they seem, in the end, they are still AI.
Because of that, other streamers usually edited and uploaded footage from [Demon’s Saga] as quickly as possible. It really didn’t matter which NPC appeared. They can’t watch YouTube anyway.
In other words, that was the trend and the norm.
But…
[Chaerin: I’m sorry; I’ll treat you to a nice meal later.]
[BlackKitty: …Fine, get something tasty.]
[Chaerin: Okay!]
But it doesn’t mean she wouldn’t get caught by the NPC after all. She didn’t want to end up getting smacked.
As Chaerin turned her thoughts around with that excuse, she decided to ask Yor for permission later.
That’s what she thought as she began browsing the community again. She spotted the usual ‘evil gallery’ chats about the game.
Amidst that, it was a post that caught her eye.
She clicked on a uniquely popular post with a significant number of comments.

[It seems I’ve encountered a new type of enemy ㄷㄷㄷ]
I came to a remote village for a guild quest, and suddenly the residents screamed that a Mine showed up ㄷㄷㄷㄷ

It’s been resolved for now, but…
What on earth was that?

[???]
[Is that a person?]
[It looks like a person? The eyes are pitch black ㄷㄷㄷ]
[How old do they look? They look ridiculously young!]
Yoo Chaerin was captivated and clicked on the video.
