Chapter 409
Epilogue: Planetary Gacha Plan – 4
To get straight to the conclusion, the first place was taken by Segretus, who created a world with such high quality that even Eclipse would nod in agreement while staying true to the concept of “raising.”
“Well done, my daughter.”
“Isn’t that obvious, Mom? Who’s your daughter?”
Minerva was incredibly proud that her daughter took the first place, and Segretus became all high-spirited.
Eileen, who always tagged along with Segretus whether she wanted to or not, tried to grumble and say something, but Kaiquilia stopped her with a gaze. While the daughters might have been a bit chaotic, the mothers maintained a normal celebratory atmosphere.
In truth, this speaks to how cleverly Segretus utilized her brains.
In the earlier sequence, she could have talked to me sooner and hugged me earlier, but conversely, being in the later sequence allowed her to see how the earlier sequence was evaluated, tweak the world to her liking, and then present it.
A competition arose over who would go later instead of first, and seeing Eileen, Luce, and Segretus all tie for the last position, it looked like everyone caught on to the strategy.
‘If I had followed my original plan, I probably wouldn’t have succeeded at all.’
Initially, I only wanted to offer a little advice and help with decorating the planet a bit. But since I came back, they had already set up their order and suddenly turned it into a ranking competition.
It was a secret only my wives and I knew that I had to pretend not to notice, so as not to disrupt their fiery enthusiasm.
“This is too cruel of you, Father… please, could you give me one more chance…?”
Once Segretus’s bragging ended, Viola came to me, teary-eyed and pleading. While it’s debatable if she was truly a victim, she was certainly the one who suffered most by not even qualifying to participate.
Segretus, who had been merrily mocking Viola for bringing it upon herself, quickly started crying as I comforted Viola and promised to give her some time later.
Stunned, I went to console Segretus and ultimately managed to calm all thirteen daughters, aged over a hundred years, before finally restoring peace.
It wasn’t a metaphor; they were genuinely crying. Waaaah – Even Eileen, Lorelia, and Victoria, who usually had such serious tones, were not exceptions.
“You’re too soft, Delta. You need to be firm when needed. If you keep this up, it’ll only get worse. Well, they’re all clever kids, so they probably won’t cross the line.”
After coaxing all my daughters to stop their tears and taking a seat to catch my breath, Aurora chimed in.
Honestly, I knew I was excessively lenient with my daughters. But what was I supposed to do when I couldn’t stand seeing them sullen or crying?
No matter how hard I tried to harden my heart, the moment those tear-filled eyes like mine clung to my arm, I simply couldn’t hold it together.
As soon as tears began to well up in eyes that clearly resembled mine, I knew intellectually that it wasn’t genuine, yet my body began reacting in panic.
When I conveyed my sentiments, Aurora chuckled, mentioning that after over 160 years, nothing had really changed. I’ve heard countless times that my soft nature was what made my daughters even more eager to appeal.
“If we are considering results, we must conclude it was a failure.”
The first experiment had concluded with Segretus in first place, but issues remained. When I opened my mouth after sending all the daughters back, Lize and Erica nodded.
“It’s a failure. It didn’t exactly feel like finding boyfriends or raising at all.”
“Right. It felt more like figuring out how to get a compliment from you, Delta.”
That’s how it was. Except for the first hitters: Regina and Selene, along with Angela and Rene, all the rest seemed concerned only with how to grab my attention, following what Harna did.
‘Did I set a scoring system for no reason?’
Since Harna had pulled off something shocking, I had instinctively reacted that way, but looking back now, it seemed like a pointless thing to do. If it hadn’t been for that, a scoring system might not have even come into play.
“Is there an appropriate method?”
“To be fair, I’d say there isn’t. The surest way would be if you got angry and scolded them, Delta, but do you really think that would happen?”
Aurora said that while glancing at me. Minerva, who also threw me a look, shook her head on Kaiquilia’s behalf.
“I can confidently say it’s impossible.”
Everyone seemed to agree with that statement. I had my own guilty feelings so I didn’t feel the urge to argue against it.
“Well, if there really is no method, it’s likely that your clones will multiply rapidly, you know, hehe…”
Nix said with a creepy smile. The word ‘rapidly’ hit home all too well.
Since we tried it out with the eldest first, just counting Evangelina and Seraphica’s daughters, there were thirty-two already. If we added Stella and Selene’s daughters to that, we easily exceeded fifty.
Moreover, considering the daughters of the remaining wives and the fact we hadn’t finished with child planning, what if we included the daughters she would bear in the future? If things went wrong, I could end up with over 200 clones of myself.
‘…That can’t happen. Absolutely not.’
Imagining my daughters dating, marrying, and having babies with clones that looked exactly like me made me unconsciously strain my hands. I couldn’t bear to see such a sight.
“Thinking about the worst-case scenario, I suppose that’s true. But I doubt it’s something you’d enjoy.”
“Yes. Exactly. Regina likes us because we’re her husbands, but not because we look like her husbands.”
“Selene feels the same. Just creating clones won’t solve anything. You wouldn’t allow such things either, right?”
Everyone had implicitly expressed their disapproval, arguing why they would choose replicas over the original me. Simply making clones wouldn’t resolve the matter.
Evangelina and Seraphica remained quiet, meditating with their eyes closed. I watched them, then poked Eclipse.
“If the Goddess had done her job properly, we wouldn’t have to agonize over this.”
“Th-that’s why I was trying to create men in the next world!”
“Didn’t look like much effort went into it, though?”
Eclipse seemed hit by that remark and responded in silence. That trait was likely here to stay for life.
“Surely copying the perfect me wouldn’t be a tiring endeavor?”
Responding to whether it would be boring to only create women, that was her reply.
I couldn’t offer any rebuttal to that statement. When it came to appearances alone, the only word to describe Eclipse was ‘perfect.’
Though her personality was far from perfect, that was another story.
“I’ve had an excellent idea.”
Seraphica and Evangelina, who had been deep in thought with their eyes closed, suddenly opened them. Their purple and green pupils slowly looked over all of us in the meeting room.
Evangelina smiled brightly and continued her sister’s thought.
“Wouldn’t it be quicker to persuade just one person to change their mind rather than trying to convince over a hundred sisters?”
What?
I flicked both Luna and Floretta, no, Seraphica and Evangelina, on their heads and then hung a sketchbook around my neck, making them raise their hands.
Despite taking such drastic measures, the tumultuous environment didn’t settle easily, and with suspicious glances being thrown my way, I ultimately had no choice but to let the meeting drift to an end.
‘There’s no way they’re really trying to convince me instead of their daughters, right?’
I returned to my room with a slight sense of unease.
“Oh, welcome home, dear.”
Someone who had entered the room before me greeted with both a friendly and lewd voice.
Leaning against the head of the bed with her arms over her head in a crossed fashion to expose her armpits, dressed only in golden rags barely covering her important parts, with her knees bent apart to reveal her genitalia…
“What in the world are you doing in my room, Frigia?”
It was Frigia.
I held my spinning head and waved my hands. Her open legs shut close, arms returned to normal covering her armpits, and the scene vanished between her arms and chest.
Slither, a heavy blanket covered her, putting an end to my daughter’s lewd behavior. Frigia peeked her head out, muttering in displeasure.
“How did you know, Dad? I made sure the eye color matched Mom’s perfectly.”
“Do you even know how many times this is, princess?”
As I said that, aside from the eye color, my daughters were so closely resembling their mother that it had happened countless times over the past 160 years.
Most of them were stopped in their tracks by me or by our mothers who came in just a bit earlier and were already lying in bed with someone who looked just like them.
Nix once caused a panic by suggesting mixing bodies right in front of me while tying Harna up as a punishment for sneaking in.
“And seriously, Dad, do you really think I wouldn’t be able to tell my own daughter apart from my wife?”
“Why would I not be able to tell?”
“It would be a big deal if you couldn’t tell, our cute, lovely daughter.”
Indeed, it would be a big deal.
